Along with regular light exercise, your diet is the main attribute that affects your weight. Being overweight or obese increases your risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke, breathing problems, arthritis, gallbladder disease, osteoarthritis, and some varieties of cancer. We know it is not as easy at it seems to maintain a healthy diet as it is tempting to eat less healthy foods because they might be easier to prepare, or quicker to satisfy your cravings. Taking time to buy the ingredients for and cooking a healthy meal isn't hard to do, it just involves making simple changes. A little learning and planning can help you find a diet to fit your lifestyle. Here are some helpful steps to try and stick to:
Cut down your fat intake, dont fry fish - grill or poach it - this small change makes a world of difference.
Avoid products made with white flour and go for grains, whole-grains and rye instead.
Include a variety of fruits and vegetables, even 1 piece a day is better than none!
Prepare foods with less sodium or salt. Do not have more than one alcoholic drink per day.
